Cythraul Devlog 2 - Identifying the look.


The past few days has mostly been tweaking and fiddling with the camera and pixel resolution.   Trying to create a game that could potentially have many enemies on screen at once meant working in 64x64 was not viable. I bumped the pixel resolution up and zoomed out and was happy with the result.

Using pixel noise, normal maps and a chunk of time fiddling I managed to create these cool texture effects that I have now adopted as a sort of wash I am planning on putting on everything, it instils this cool dreamy feel and looks like glitter.

I was also able to implement a basic attack function that animates, next step with this will be -damage to enemy health and destroying enemies.
